Mr. Gary B. McDuffy, Sr was born on February 23, 1942, in Freehold, New Jersey to the late Hattie Ruth McDuffy and the late James Bernard McDuffy. He departed his earthly life on June 11, 2023, at Scotland Manor Health & Rehabilitation in Scotland Neck, North Carolina.
He attended school in the Monmouth County School system in New Jersey.
After schooling, he became a long-distance truck driver.
He was a 33-degree Master Mason.
He was preceded in death by three sisters - Rona Roy, JoAnn Vauhghn, and Sandra DeBose.
He leaves to cherish his memories: three children – Gail McDuffy Thigpen (Jimmy) of Williamston, NC; Gary Bernard McDuffy, Jr (Dina) of Dallas, TX; Gisele McDuffy of Ocean Township, NJ; six grandchildren – Demetrius McDuffy of Lufkin, TX, Gary B. McDuffy, III of Dallas, TX; James L Thigpen, Jr (Charmayne) of Ayden, NC; Jamar L. Thigpen (Oneshia) of Williamston, NC; Nykell Lane of Neptune, NJ; Jasmine Green (Steve) of Williamston, NC; seven great grandchildren; four brothers – James McDuffy, Jr of FL; Wayman Roy of FL; Wayne Roy of NJ; Kevin Roy of VA; Mary Etheridge of Newark, NJ; Janice Richardson (Freddie) of Lakewood, NJ; Vicki Roy of Norfolk, VA, Regina Roy of VA; two special friends – Mary Jones; Mary Morris both of Long Branch, NJ; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
